My kids just had this exchange

Sarah: I like this setup you have here, can I touch it?
Jade: Noooo! (Running toward her.)
Sarah: (Smiles, doesn’t touch it.)
Jade: Softening, she explains, If you touch it, it will burn your fingers. It won’t burn my fingers if I touch it.
Sarah: What if I use magic so it won’t burn my fingers?
Jade: Yeeeaah!
Commence new game.

She learns fast

Family dinner. Both girls want to say the prayer. First.
Before any agreement is reached, two-year-old Jane says her own super-speedy blessing.
As soon as it’s over, Sariah says, “Erase, Erase” and then offers her own version.
To which Jane replies, “Erase, erase.”

I finished it during [...]

Christmas Homemade

Two-year-old Jade was asking to borrow Sarah’s wallet and Sarah didn’t want her to.
But during Jade’s nap, Sarah and I decided to make her a wallet of her own for Christmas. When Jade opened it and saw what it was, she exclaimed, “A wallet! I’ve always wanted a wallet!” and ran over to give her [...]

Those sneaky little feet

Two-year-old, sitting behind me in the car:
“Mom, you can’t see my feet . . . They’re hiding in my shoes.”
