Let’s Go With It (National Delurking Day?)

So Echo (who, by the way, lived right behind me in high school, but we just recently found each other’s blogs), says it’s National Delurking Day. And she’s a long-time blogger (not to mention an award-winning journalist), so she must know what she’s talking about.

Who in the world comes up with these things anyway? It’s like those old playground rhymes (“Candy apples on a stick, makes my heart go two-forty-six …”) — everybody knows them, but no one really knows where they came from.

Anyway, the way I see it, generally if you’re a lurker, you don’t really want to be known, and that’s the point, but … if outing yourself floats your boat, I suppose today’s the day to do it.

Shall we make this fun? How about everybody tell me your very favorite treat. (Since sweet treats are kind of a main theme of this blog. Or at least my Twitter account).

And if your answer is “Chocolate chip cookies without the chocolate chips” (I’m cutting back, see), just hop on over and I’ll share some with you.

Or we can just be boring and have everyone answer this:

Who are you and why are you here?

Although I can see that not being very boring at all, if anyone goes all existential on me.

Comments . . .

Well, if its National Delurking day I guess I’d better get into the spirit :) I’m not sure how I got here but probably following a comment you’d left on another blog. I think I’ve commented here before but not sure… I’m Kez from Australia.

Oh and favourite sweet treat would have to be ice-cream..

Can I go back to lurking now??!

    ~lurk, lurk, lurk~
    Oh, man. You found me!
I’m here because it’s very interesting to see what people you know put on their blogs. You find out things you never knew and can understand more about what they do and why.
Treat? I’ve been wanting to make some Blueberry Lemon Bread, so I’ll go with that. :)

Ha ha! I forgot we used to live near each other. lol.

My favorite treat lately are the itty bitty teeny tiny 3 Musketeers or Midnight Milky Way bars. I’m dieting, you see, and so if I eat one of each every day I don’t feel bad. Though I’m sure that even the teeny ones are more fat & calories than my usual bagel with fat free cream cheese breakfast. lol!

Hey….you’ve learned to eat chocolate chip cookies in my favorite way..w/o the chips…yum!

I’d have to go with tapioca on my fav sweet.

I’m here because you are my beautiful daughter and I love you and you never cease to amaze me!?

    ice cream…sometimes in rootbeer

did that go or do I have to do it again? I said, icecream and sometimes in rootbeer.

I’m here because you’re awesome and I’m regretting the fact that I didn’t know you better when we lived in the same neighborhood.

I read you frequently, but don’t frequently comment because I don’t usually feel like I have anything to say that is anywhere near as smart or thoughtful as your typical material. So I kinda lurk.

I don’t think I could choose a favorite sweet. I love them all. I have eaten 14 balls of frozen chocolate chip cookie dough today. (yikes!)

    I’m here, too.

I like New York Super Fudge Chunk ice cream, frozen berries blended with heavy whipping cream, and cold butter. Yum.

Oh wow, you all did come out! Thank you!

Kez, I think you found me during the unschooling carnival thingie.

Nicole, I was wondering if you were still around. Mmm, I’ll take some of that bread whenever you get around to making it!

Echo, I don’t know which house you were in, but I’m pretty sure it was somewhere in the cul-de-sac right behind my house. I think my sister and your brother may have known each other. Or at least they were in the same grade? Suz?

Mom, yes, they are yummy that way. Though a half and half mix of semi-sweet and white chocolate is probably my favorite. Hershey’s though. Gotta be Hershey’s.

Grannie, that’s one of Matt’s favorites, and about the only thing we ever buy soda for.

Stephanie, with your cookie dough habits, it is probably a good thing you and I don’t live in the same neighborhood anymore!

Suz, cold butter? Still? Really? I love you girl! (I suppose it’s not nearly as bad as my butter/whiteflour/sugar mixture sprinkled with chocolate chips that I’m so fond of!)

All — thanks for reading. I wish I could have you all over for a great big sugarfest and I’m sure some amazing conversation!
