Why You Don’t Ask Kids “Why”
Jade, my 3-year-old: “I’m skinny.”
Me, wondering where the heck that came from: “Why’s that?”
Jade: “Because my dad’s name is Rumpelstiltskin.”
Right.
I seriously have no idea where she got “skinny” from. Or why she would use it to describe herself. And we read Rumpelstiltskin, like, three weeks ago and haven’t talked about it since. But next time you find yourself asking a small child why she did something, just keep this little conversation in mind. It puts it all in perspective.

Oh yeah, ads. I’m going to try this out. I don’t know if much will come of it, except perhaps enough to fuel my chocolate chip cookie addiction. ;)

You have such a funny, cute little girl there! Would you please bring her and her also adorable sisters back here? Thanks.

Hopefully this time I’ll remember to take my camera and try to get a good pic of the ‘why again’ cross-stitch. Don’t let me forget!
