Busy, Busy, Rush, Rush

Why am I always so busy? Despite my efforts, we still always seem to be running around like a bunch of little headless chickens.

Today I planned to:

  1. Go to the library.
  2. Make some bracelets with the girls.
  3. Attend a family picnic with a local homeschool group.

But throw in a few extra meals, baking bread, putting people down for naps, reading library books, talking to the kind gentleman who waited for me outside the library to invite me to his church (I invited him to mine, hee!) (He was talking to everyone he could, not singling me out or anything.), and wow, the day was packed!

At 5:30 the two youngest were still taking naps, and the rest of us were very UNready to go, I suddenly said to Matt, “The picnic starts in 30 minutes. It takes 30 minutes to get there and we’re supposed to bring something!”

Prepared and on top of things, I am not.

My recently turned 6-year-old, noticing me getting a little frantic, said, “I’ll get my shoes on and then I”ll be ready to go and I can help you.” She did and she was so sweet. She helped our 3-year-old get up and get dressed, brought me clothes for the baby, packed the diaper bag, and carried stuff out to the car, all the while asking what else we needed done.

I don’t know what I would do without that girl, but since I neglected to write one of those sweet birthday letters you see so often on blogs, let me just say now that I am so thankful to have her in my life. She fills me with so much joy, love, and wisdom, there aren’t words adequate to express my feelings for her. It was a blessed gift from Heavenly Father, to have her, and for her to be our first baby.

So . . . busy. Yes. That is the story of my life, and especially my mind. If only it would shut up so I could sleep now. At 2:30am, people need to be sleeping, yes? Especially mothers who need to be coherent with their children in the morning? Right. Off to try again.

Only let me just warn you now, I may not be blogging much for a bit. With my computer knocked off, I’m enjoying not being online so much. I can borrow my husband’s in the evenings, but I think I’m going to just take a bit of a break from it all. Don’t worry, I’m not going anywhere. (Well, if I do, I promise to tell you this time. I am already kinda tired of this blog name.) But I mostly just want to catch up on some books and other home-related things.

I totally agree that life is just so busy and being online doesn’t help. I need to focus more on keeping my house clean and staying on top of things too. Enjoy your break and I’m sure I’ll hear from you in the future :)

I’d love to take the craft activity off your hands. You truly have an amazing #1 daughter and she is teaching #2 very well. You’re and amazing mother and father team.
