Wading Through Piles and Piles of STUFF
I’m here, I’m just surrounded by so many things to do I sometimes don’t even know where to begin. We’re in our new house, but there are still a few things at the old one, and it needs cleaning. Right now my kitchen floor is completely covered in every food item I own, plus most of the dishes, all waiting to find new homes.
I’m trying to simplify my life, to be less stressed–even in this crazy time of moving–starting by limiting my To Do list to a smaller, reasonable number of items each day. Yesterday I did about eight loads of laundry and went grocery shopping. Today I plan to:
- Organize my kitchen
- Make birthday party invitations
Along with the everyday basics: getting people food, reading to kids, nursing the baby ten thousand times . . .
If I get more done, great, but those are the only things I’m shooting for. So I don’t rush everybody around all day, losing my own head in the process.
Speaking of losing my head, yes, we’re planning a [small] birthday party for my six-year-old next week. In this house. That we just moved into. Let’s just hope we find time to put things together by next Thursday.
I’m also spending a lot less time online lately–because of all this stuff we have to do, and also because my HP laptop is broken. Something about the graphics (video?) card going out. And you can’t just buy one and replace it, you have to replace the whole motherboard. Which Matt thinks he can do, but we still have to buy it, and we have so many things we need to buy right now, $150 on my computer seems a little frivolous.

just think of this as your last move…good luck, wish I were there to help. Glad you don’t have stairs to climb.
