Pigs?
We’re cleaning and packing because we’re going to Utah for a week. Jade is trying to figure out what’s going on.
J: Are we going to our new house, Mama?
M: No, not right now. We’re going to Utah for a week, and then we’ll move to our new house when we get back.
J: Oh, and then pigs will come.
M: … Pigs?
J: Yes.
M: Why will pigs come?
J: Because that’s what happened when we moved from the [name of last town we lived in] house.
M: Really? Did you see them?
J: Yeah, one came up to our car.
M: What color was it?
J: Pink. A pink pig came up to our car when we moved from the * house. I saw it. It was big. (She stretches her arms way out.) He was as big as our garage.
I have no idea what she’s talking about, but for those of you who will see us in Utah, cross your fingers that you will get to have a conversation with this child.
