My kids just had this exchange
Sarah: I like this setup you have here, can I touch it?
Jade: Noooo! (Running toward her.)
Sarah: (Smiles, doesn’t touch it.)
Jade: Softening, she explains, If you touch it, it will burn your fingers. It won’t burn my fingers if I touch it.
Sarah: What if I use magic so it won’t burn my fingers?
Jade: Yeeeaah!
Commence new game.
They have conversations like this all the time, and it cracks me up, but I always forget them when I finally get a chance to write it down. This time, the computer was handy and I’m just nursing Carrie anyway, might as well journal too.)
