Small notes
We finally went for our “2 week” checkup with the midwife today. Baby Carrie is actually 2 days past 3 weeks. (Oops.) (It’s a looong drive down there, especially with three kids.) (I have three kids!!), but checked out perfectly.
She’s up to 9 lbs 5 oz (from 7 lbs 13 oz at birth), nursing and sleeping just like a baby should, and still providing endless delight for the rest of us.

Today I had resolved absolutely to resume exercising. Tonight.
Then I went into the kitchen after putting Jade down and Matt was making fry bread (complete with oodles of honey and butter drizzled on top) and my crazy ambitions went straight out the window.
“I was actually planning on going for a run tonight,” I told him. He responded, “I plan on going for a run every night. Do we get credit for planning?”
Someday. If only I can somehow reframe my mind to look forward all evening to a nightly run rather than a nightly treat, I’d be in great shape. (If only!)

Our visitors are officially gone. I am so sad about this. My family is sooo the kind of company you want, especially right after having a baby. They come, they hang out, they make me laugh, they adore my kids, hold my baby, clean my house, and overlook all the ways in which I am sadly lacking as a mother and housekeeper (as my kids scream at each other while running across a sticky kitchen floor!)
Really, it was so great to have them. I could sit and chat with them forever. I miss the time we spent in Provo together. Now we’re all spread out–from Utah to Texas to Virginia. I’d love for us all live closely again someday, but it’s turning out to be mighty tough convincing anyone to move to Texas!

I am almost certain if your baby is only 3 weeks old it would be horribly unhealthy to begin exercising already, so you better stick to just planning for now ;) ha ha

Maybe next time you’ll get that nightly run in. I’ve found that if it doesn’t happen in the morning before the kids wake up it doesn’t happen. Good Luck!

Let’s see….there ARE other places we could live close to each other…I think your sister will eventually move back to utah, and dad says we’re stayin’…so……???!
We’re at the library in CO Spgs right now checking email. It is snowing. We’re hoping the family will be able to get out of Monument and Black Forest to come spend time w/us tomorrow, but they’re getting lots more snow up there.
love, mom

at least my fingers are getting some exercise. My cardio dr told me to walk 30 min a day. Not only would it be heart healthy, but could help my RLS for which I’m taking a new Rx ( and I can’t have grapefruit while in this med). I’m going to finish this one month Rx…and try the GSE. love u all, Grannie

I think the hardest part of any exercise routine is *starting* it. But once you get started, your body begins to crave the endorphins you produce. I just started yoga about a month ago. It was very difficult to get going. But now I can’t stand to miss it. Of course I’m only going once a week. lol
I love your layout. Very unique and functional. Is it custom?

I know I just need to get started, but that even is so hard–I need to find the time, the place, and preferably, somebody to do it with me! I would love to do Yoga, but can’t really afford right now to pay for a class. Maybe I’ll start scrounging Good-will for a video.
And thanks about the website; yep, I designed it. (I still really don’t know that much about web design. Just what I’ve learned from tinkering around with other themes the last couple of years. Finally figured it out enough to make a site the way I wanted it.)
