She is Here!
This morning I looked like this:
Tonight, that bump? Is totally removable.
Don’t worry, full details of all the in-between stuff are coming. But I thought I should let you know, for those of you who don’t Tweet, that she arrived today just before noon and is doing wonderfully.
The girl we will be calling Carrie for Internet purposes is 7 lbs 13 oz, 20.5 inches long, lovely in every way, and welcomed by 2 adoring big sisters.
Now my sweet, amazing labor-companion of a husband is zonked out, which is why I was left to fend for myself to figure out how to go to the bathroom with no one around to hold my baby for me. Just in case you were wondering why I’ve already gotten the sling out. Don’t worry, I’m not planning on using it much yet. I’m planning on spending several days lying in bed and being waited on hand and foot, thank you very much!
But Matt had just barely started to drift off to sleep when I announced at 4:20 this morning that, once again, I was pretty sure either my bladder muscles had stopped functioning completely, or my membranes had ruptured.
He worked just as hard as I did throughout the labor and the rest of the day, and now is finally getting a chance to sleep (although it’s probably not very restful since he fell asleep sharing a small twin bed with our 2-year-old!)
I guess I should probably do the same, having only had about 3 hours of sleep myself before waking up leaking water all over the place.
First I need to take something for these totally killer afterpains though. What works that’s safe to take? I don’t know if it matters, I keep throwing up everything I try. (I’m keeping other foods and liquids down, don’t worry. Just can’t seem to keep anything down that might alleviate some of this cramping. Afterpains should so not be more uncomfortable than the actual labor! My goodness.)
Thank you all for your well-wishes and congratulations! We really appreciate it! We just wish some of you lived closer so you could come and enjoy this sleeping sweetilicious bundle of loveliness with us!

Oh, I can’t wait to get my hands on her! Jade reminds me of Suzanne…as usual…looking like she wants to ‘pet’ her and maul her as Suzanne did when the boys were babes! I can’t wait to see all of you!
Hugs and kisses to everyone.

Thank you all so much! Birth story is up, finally. http://simplymother.com/2009/03/26/third-birth-story/
Afterpains finally seem to be subsiding. I gave up taking medication–nothing was working anyway.
