Oh Deer

My husband came home late last night from working on one of the rentals.

“Hey, glad you’re still up. Well, I reconfigured the front of your car for you,” he announces.

My husband reconfigured the front of my car for me

Awesome.

[Un]fortunately, he was still able to drive it home, and, with maybe a little crowbar action, some adjustments to the radiator, and a replaced headlight, our lovely ride will be as good as new. Well, if 22 years old could ever be considered “new” in the first place.

You would think maybe we need a new car anyway, what with child number three coming and all. But we can still squeeze one more carseat in the back–we have to get everything all buckled in and then slam the door, and everybody kind of goes kabunk a bit, but . . .

A new car–even a new OLD car, isn’t quite in the budget just yet, so what can you do?

And yes, my title is not an accident–he did hit a deer on his way home last night. He really is an excellent driver–there’s not much you can do when they just dart out in front of you out of nowhere.

A New Craft Project

On a completely unrelated note, I want to make the girls some dolls–smaller ones this time, that will fit in their slings–before Baby gets here. I want to give them as “Birth” day presents. I have enough fabric already, and I just need someone to convince me to buy this pattern I’ve been pining for.

It just seems a little frivolous, especially considering life’s little disasters that keep coming up (see above) costing us money we don’t have. But I know it would save me a lot of headache to have actual instructions. And to not have to draw the things myself, which I’d be horrible at.

I guess I know I need the pattern. I just don’t know if I need to make the dolls.

Comments . . .

  1. 1

I know this isn’t the same pattern, but this is a basic, cute and easy doll pattern. but, warning, you need to enlarge the size of the pattern unless you want very little dolls.

Hey Nicole, the link didn’t come through, I’d love to see it.

I actually bit the bullet and bought the pattern though. It is great, I’m working on it now!
