I think I’m ready for feedback

I guess that means maybe I should tell somebody about this site, eh?

I’m so nervous about this. I really don’t want to start another blog just to abandon it again in a few months, but . . . here goes! Maybe I can keep this one around awhile.

Anyway, do you like the design? What would you change? Colors, fonts, sizes, usability, I’m interested in it all.

There are still a few quirks. Of course Internet Explorer is giving me issues, as usual. Newer versions are better, but still. Why isn’t the background on my header and footer image totally transparent? And why aren’t my two little RSS icons showing up?

And my font image replacement plugin isn’t working exactly perfectly yet. The font I’m using for my post titles is really so pretty, but it’s not rendering correctly right now. I think I need to install something called imagemagick, but it looks complicated.

Comments . . .

I am too unknowing (read…stupid) to know what you’re talking about. So far it looks good to me. Good title. Now if I can get back to the remaining text without losing the whole thing, I’ll have learned another process.

Comment section looks good. Poster info and date at bottom of comment box looks scrunched though.

Thanks guys. Husband, working on it. It’s not scrunched anymore, but there needs to be a little more space between the metadata and the bottom of the bubble. It should be easy to figure that out, but all my strategies are availing nothing.

I also don’t know how to get that little comment notification checkbox to be inline with the words following it. And I just looked at the comments in IE and why oh why are the image colors darker than the background color? It’s the exact same color number. I don’t get it. Same with why the top and bottom of the page have that slightly darker blue. Why?

just a hint: for people not using javascript, the line-height of your headlines should be adjusted.

I like it, very nice clean and simple…. Hope you decide to keep your blog and continue writing. Don’t let others stop ya :)

Thanks for the tip, Just So. I wasn’t even aware it was possible some people wouldn’t be able to see the pretty cursive font.

So you have to have something installed on your computer to be able to see it then? Javascript, it’s called? I’m hoping since I didn’t even know I had it that means it’s common enough that most computers have it, right?

Either way, I need to see about getting a better alternate font for when it doesn’t show up, or for when it takes awhile, as it does on my own computer sometimes.

Thanks very much Heather! I’m going to try!

    Hi,
I do like your blog. It is honest, and real. I am mothering also, and have those days where I want to break bowls (sometimes over my husbands head!) but have refrained from doing so.
Join an online writers group or a local one (check local library). It is great for motivation and you meet lots of people that want to write!
